FRED THOMPSON: I saw I'm not here here to go into detail about it in my initial little discussion here because I know you're not electing a set of plans. You're electing a leader. Youre electing a leader for a time thats gonna need strong leadership, because of the kind of world that we live in. Its not an overstatement to say that we are just one good successful terrorist plan away from a nuclear disaster in this country. It would make 9/11 look like childs play. Well, people say, Thompson, you're hyperventilating there boy, you're overstating the case. I say go back to what the chairman or the vice chairman of the 9/11 commission . . . they finished their report, they wrote their report, they sent it and they went out and went on the talk shows. I've been on one of them with them when we were talking about nuclear proliferation. And they say the same thing. They say the same thing. They say. . . sadly, that they fear that the chances of that happening are pretty good. Pretty good. We gotta do everything we can [pause] to prevent that. It's not a time for learning on the job my friends. It's a, it is a time for leadership. Leadership comes out in a lot of various ways at funny times.
