Culture Kitchen notes that Rupert Murdoch is behind the latest attack on Obama -- that his aunt is an illegal immigrant living in the suburbs of Boston.

The AP found that Obama's aunt, Zeituni Onyango, had been instructed to leave the country four years ago by an IJ who rejected her appeal for asylum.

The campaign has released the following statement:

"Senator Obama has no knowledge of her status but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed."

Barack Obama lost a golden opportunity to take a stance for migrant rights and put the media in its place.

Murdoch waited for the precise moment to pounch on Obama through the Times of London that broke the story. Unfortunately for him, even the latest cheap shot at Obama's credentials for President won't dampen the victory lap of the Democrat campaign.

According to the senior campaign strategist,

"The campaign issued a statement on that, you know, and I don't have anything more to add to it," Axelrod told reporters, "other than I think people are suspicious about stories that surface in the last 72 hours of a national campaign. And I think that they're going to take that - they're going to put it in that context."

For those who don't know, Media Mogul Murdoch is dead-set against Obama, calling him a setback for globalization. Sounds like the late surprise is simply personal vendetta, given that Murdoch has made his billions on global media conglomeration.

As for Barack's aunt, Boston Housing Authority describes her as an exemplary resident.

McGonagle said BHA employees were caught off guard.

“We were as surprised as anyone,” he said. “We were a little bit flabbergasted.”

Onyango has lived in Boston public housing for five years, McGonagle said.

“She has been an exemplary resident,” he said.

She received a small stipend over the past year for working six hours a week as a volunteer resident health advocate in her complex, he said.

The media needs to leave her alone and go find another Joe the Plumber who wants to milk his 15 minutes of fame.

She certainly does not live Obama's American dream just like so many Americans. And NB: She is not a criminal--just guilty of a civic violation.

We don't pay so much attention to ILLEGAL drivers now, do we? How many of Obama's relatives have speeding tickets?
