JOHN MCCAIN: "...The first thing I'm going to do when I'm President of the United States, the first appropriations bill, the first money bill that comes to my desk with an earmark, pork barrel project on it, I'm gonna veto it [applause] . . . in the last two years the President of the United States has signed into law, two bills, m-massive spending bills, of 35 billion dollars worth of earmark and pork-barrel projects. 35 billion dollars. My friends, that could have been a 1000 dollar tax credit for every child in America . . . we will restore confidence and trust in our government which as we all know is not great today . . . "
