Hey hi Henry and Marie-Joséel!
How are you guys doing? Your homes look amazing! You must be having a blast riding horses and fishing. I hope you have found time to enjoy it! Word on the street is that you have a 9 handicap, Henry so you must be sneaking in some time for golf! Good for you!
Just thought I'd let you know what I have been up to this year. It has been a really challenging year but I have learned a lot. I learned how to talk my way out of overdraft fees at the bank and also how to fill out my unemployment forms correctly. It has been a great year. I have really had a lot of free time so I learned how to surf. Which is great because it really calms you down after you have been on hold for 3 hours with your credit card companies. I am pretty much maxed out but it is cool because I am mentally focused on prosperity and abundance.
I watched this awesome movie called "The Secret" which taught me how to visualize what I really really want in life and think positive so I can be rich one day. It is a really brilliant film. So I have been thinking positively because really I am about to turn a corner in my life. And that will be awesome. I just keep thinking positive!
I have done a lot of traveling this year to some cool places. My union didn't have enough contracts for all the workers enrolled on the roster so I made "lemonade" so to speak and visited cool places and went to work. Since that was the only work that was available to me in my field I was pretty stoked, I did have to cover my own travel expenses and was never offered a permanent job thus reducing my earnings by about 30% but hey, it beats unemployment!
I went to New York City and San Francisco, Las Vegas and Phoenix. Pretty cool exotic locales. I had a few cliff hangers but I survived. Too bad I wasn't getting any benefits since I was working out of my local area. I am really glad nothing happened to me because I don't have health insurance right now. Phew! I am so glad that I saved all of these companies a bundle by not getting any benefits.
Well I will be sticking around home now that I took a pay cut so that I can have steady employment. So hopefully we can hang out soon. Just giving you a heads up, I don't have a lot of time, since I have to make up for the lost income with increased hours. I am going to be pretty busy. I can't go home to Minnesota this year because I can't afford it. But it is kind of a relief not to show my face at Christmas because I can't buy presents for my 10 nieces and nephews anyway, which is pretty embarrassing. So I will be hanging out at home 1500 miles away. Probably veggin' out because I will be so tired from work. But I think I have Christmas day off so maybe I will catch up with you then!
Hope you have a year better than '92 for you as election time is rolling around again. Remember Henry, when you were fined for funding the George Bush campaign by making that generous $100,000 "soft money" donation to the Republican National State Election Committee? That was a bummer! I know you like to support the Repubs' but keep it on the low this time Henry! Remember what that cost you last time? An $8,000 fine levied by the Federal Election Commission for violating the legal ceiling on campaign giving.
You have to keep a low profile this time dude! I know it cannot be easy with all these bleedin' hearts blowing your cover! As heads of private equity companies, you rock at buying troubled companies, fixing their bottom lines and reselling them for big profits. It is a total drag that so many jealous critics are painting you guys as financial predators whose talent lay is slashing jobs and chopping up companies.
I have heard you say before, taking over companies help society by saving jobs and strengthening companies in distress. Tssk tssk Henry your New Years resolution should be to stop fibbing, because companies that are taken over experience an average job loss of 23% and only start recruiting again after 5 years that is if the company still exists. Private equity takeovers usually result in the dissolve of the company within 3-5 years!
Well fingers crossed! I know that this issue is moving into the senate this year because you and your cronies have gone to any lengths to protect yourselves by hiring the best lobbyists, buying political favor and looking pretty charitable by giving $10,000,000 to the Robin Hood Foundation, looking like your fighting poverty! Very sneaky! Looks like you are creating poverty by eliminating jobs and evading taxes through loopholes, if I didn't know 'ya better!
Well have a blast in Vail! You sly dog! You know you have been spotted stopping in Denver to pick up discount lift tickets while on the way to your Vail home aboard the private jet, be more slick next time dude- People are starting to catch on! I guess that's how 'ya stay rich huh buddy?
Much Love,
Sara
