Want your business news infected with republican propaganda and a curious lack of actual business information? Then FOX’s new business channel may be the one for you.

FOX Business will most likely be just like FOX — an arm of the republican propaganda machine. Like FOX, it will be designed to demonize democrats and enrich the top 1%, not help regular people. Like FOX, it will hide any truth that does not fit the republican agenda, no matter how vital that truth may be to the way you live your life and care for your family. Like FOX, it will try to distract and titillate you with tabloid news when it should be informing you so you can make sound decisions — all while pulling the rug out from under you.

FOX “News” could care less if its viewers know the truth about the world. FOX’s only goal is to misinform and scare their viewers into following the republican agenda right off a cliff. They don’t care if that means you don’t get healthcare, your social services get cut, you don’t get a raise, or your kid gets sent to Iraq. They really don’t. They just want you to vote republican. When they’re not doing that, they are titillating and distracting their viewers with stories about Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, or anything involving sex, cleavage and skin (unless it involves a republican). Or they’re scaring them with stories of child molesters, kidnappers, and murderers (provided the victims are white). Or they’re attacking Rosie O’Donnell, democrats, and keeping you safe from rappers and sexy burger ads. FOX has about as much journalistic integrity as Access Hollywood.

So what can you expect from FOX Business? If it’s anything like FOX’s “business” shows, I wouldn’t expect much business, and barely any news. Their daily hour-long “premiere” business show, Your World w/Neil Cavuto, contains an almost cartoonish lack of actual business news. Unless you count hearing financial guru Ann Coulter discuss the Bush economic plan (or why she hates all Arabs or why single women shouldn’t vote, or something like that). Or unless you make investment decisions based on Paris Hilton’s rap sheet — or on former astronaut Buzz Aldrin’s thoughts on Paris Hilton’s rap sheet. Or on who can eat the most hot dogs. Seriously, these are all stories featured on Your World, a business show. When Paris Hilton went back to jail, Your World did not feature a single business story for the entire hour, and they didn’t even go to commercial for the first 30 minutes! I’ll bet they didn’t even do that on 9/11. If FOX can’t find enough business news to fill one hour a day, how will they fill 24?

My guess is they won’t. Remember, FOX doesn’t give a damn about you or your family or the financial news you need for your economic health — they only care about how you vote. So get ready to hear a lot of republican talking points about how great the Bush economy is (despite the fact that salaries have stagnated, the dollar is historically weak, job creation is anemic, and more and more families are losing their health care). Prepare to hear the “liberal media” and “frustration” with Iraq blamed for why 70% of Americans believe the economy is getting worse and 58% disapprove of how Bush is handling the economy — after all, their pessimistic outlook couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the state of their finances and the actual circumstances of their lives. Don’t expect to learn about the link between the Iraq war, Bush’s bellicose threats against Iran, and high gas prices.

But get ready to hear how the market is soaring, SOARING! Like a mighty bald eagle of free market liberty! Hear how everything good about the US economy can be traced back to the “wisdom” of Ronald Reagan and the “leadership” of W Bush! That the free market is the cure for all ills! That government regulation is bad, even when it protects you! How democrats are socialists who want to take your money! Prepare for the sexiest “business” experts with the shortest skirts on all cable! Gird yourself for even more Ann Coulter!

You’ll hear how everything is great — right up until democrats are in control. Then it will be pure slash and burn. FOX has shown that they would rather divide and damage the country then see it prosper under a democratic president. They would rather wreck the economy than see it benefit from democratic economic policies, even if those policies are good for your bottom line.  

Do you really want to invest your savings based on republican propaganda delivered by people whose main credentials seem to be the lengths of their skirts? Only if your idea of sexy is losing your shirt.
